What We Believe

We believe there is one God who exists in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus, born of a virgin, is the Son of God who lived a sinless life, died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, ascended into Heaven, and will one day physically return to earth.

We believe that God, the Holy Spirit, is active in convincing unbelievers of their need for salvation and is the Comforter and Guide who dwells within every believer.

We believe the Bible is the unchanging, perfect Word of God and is the authoritative rule for a life in faith.

We believe that mankind is a special creation of God made in His image but that through the sin of the first man, Adam, mankind fell so that all people are sinners in need of salvation.

We believe in salvation by grace through faith, that salvation is a free gift of God not by any virtue or works of man but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Every person who is truly saved is eternally secure in Christ, so that a believer is once saved, always saved.

We believe that baptism by immersion is an act of obedience, intended as a witness of a person’s faith and as a symbolic portrayal of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

The Good of The City (Statesboro)

The vision of Southbridge is to be a community of faith who glorifies God where people from all walks of life experience the unconditional love of God as believers grow in the faith and the lost enter into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.  In order to fulfill the commands found in the Bible, we believe the charge to the local church is to make disciples, serve others, share the Gospel of Jesus, and be on mission both locally and globally.

In short at SouthBridge we want to help people have a conversation … with Jesus, with each other, and the world.

We will do this as we provide opportunities for people to engage in meaningful live changing relationships. Our three conversations will help individuals and families deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ, each other, and the world.

Many people today do not believe they can have a growing relationship with Jesus. They believe that Jesus is out of reach, ill-relevant, and could care less about their life. At SouthBridge we believe people matter and that Christ can do a deep work in a person’s life as they trust Him.

We are all about Jesus! We are a church committed to helping people grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe a relationship with Jesus Christ is best formed within a simple conversation. Jesus is the hope of the world and the local church is the frontline of hope and love in a community.
Ministry happens best in the context of relationships and these relationships create opportunities for people to grow both relationally and spiritually. As a church we are committed to helping children, students, and adults of all ages grow in their relationship with each other and the Lord.
